Effect of dilute impurities on short graphene Josephson junctions

چکیده

We study the effect of a dilute homogeneous spatial distribution non-magnetic impurities on equilibrium supercurrent sustained by ballistic graphene Josephson junction in short limit. Within Dirac-Bogoliubov-de Gennes approach and modeling Anderson model we derive its power spectrum. find modification current-phase relation with reduction skewness induced disorder, nonmonotonic temperature dependence critical current. The potentialities spectrum for accurate spectroscopy hybridized Andreev bound states-impurities are highlighted. In low limit, zero frequency thermal noise directly probes spectral function at Fermi energy.

Ultimately short ballistic vertical graphene Josephson junctions

Much efforts have been made for the realization of hybrid Josephson junctions incorporating various materials for the fundamental studies of exotic physical phenomena as well as the applications to superconducting quantum devices. Nonetheless, the efforts have been hindered by the diffusive nature of the conducting channels and interfaces. To overcome the obstacles, we vertically sandwiched a c...

Excitonic Josephson effect in double-layer graphene junctions

We show that double-layer graphene (DLG), where an external potential induces a charge imbalance between nand p-type layers, is a promising candidate to realize an exciton condensate in equilibrium. To prove this phenomenon experimentally, we suggest coupling two DLG systems, separated by a thin insulating barrier, and measuring the excitonic Josephson effect. For this purpose we calculate the ...

Phase diffusion in graphene-based Josephson junctions.

We report on graphene-based Josephson junctions with contacts made from lead. The high transition temperature of this superconductor allows us to observe the supercurrent branch at temperatures up to ∼2 K, at which point we can detect a small, but nonzero, resistance. We attribute this resistance to the phase diffusion mechanism, which has not been yet identified in graphene. By measuring the r...

Self-consistent solution for proximity effect and Josephson current in ballistic graphene SNS Josephson junctions

We use a tight-binding Bogoliubov-de Gennes (BdG) formalism to self-consistently calculate the proximity effect, Josephson current, and local density of states in ballistic graphene SNS Josephson junctions. Both short and long junctions, with respect to the superconducting coherence length, are considered, as well as different doping levels of the graphene. We show that self-consistency does no...

Josephson Effect in SFXSF Junctions

We investigate the Josephson effect in SFXSF junctions, where SF is a superconducting material with a ferromagnetic exchange field, and X is a weak link. The critical current Ic increases with the (antiparallel) exchange fields, if the distribution of transmission eigenvalues of the X layer has its maximum weight at small values. This exchange-field enhancement of the supercurrent does not exis...
